Charlotte Pipe Cast Iron Chosen For 'This Old House' NYC Project

Richard Trethewey met with local plumbing and
heating contractor Randy Gitli for a look at the progress on the cast-iron waste
piping.
“This Old House” recently tackled its first-ever New York City project, where the contractors chose Charlotte Pipe and Foundry’s cast-iron pipe and fittings for the plumbing. Cast iron eliminates the sound of water from fixtures on floors above flowing down behind the walls, which was a consideration since the building was a three-family Brooklyn brownstone.
The episode featuring Charlotte Pipe and Foundry shows plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey meeting with local plumbing and heating contractor Randy Gitli for a look at the progress on the cast-iron waste piping, and the home’s mechanical room, which contains two complete heating systems, one for the ground floor apartment, and another for the top three floors.
