Glenn Wilson Ross, 87, founder and former president of Ross Supply Co., Marion, IN, and one of the founding members of Wit & Co., died March 5. He served in the U.S. Army, rising to First Sergeant in the 106th Infantry. He bought a hardware store in 1949 and renamed it Ross Hardware, then added plumbing and heating supplies.

The store burned to the ground in 1950, but Ross rented a small warehouse and continued doing business, building up to become Ross Supply Co. When he retired as president in 1987 the business had grown to occupy a 30,000-sq.-ft. warehouse and office building and had more than 15 employees. The company remains in business today.
