McJunkin Red Man Buys British Valve Distributor
McJunkin Red Man
Corp. (MRC), based in both Charleston, WV, and Tulsa, OK, said it
has entered into an agreement to acquire Transmark Fcx Group B.V., a leading
international distributor of specialty valves and flow control equipment.
MRC’s President and CEO Andrew Lane said, "Through the
purchase of Transmark, we will expand our product and service offering, provide
access to more of the world’s leading brand names, and expand our industrial
distribution channel."
This is the third acquisition by MRC since being formed in 2007 via the merger of McJunkin Corp. and Red Man Pipe & Supply. MRC previously acquired Midfield Supply in Canada and St. Louis-based LaBarge Pipe and Steel. McJunkin Red Man was ranked No. 3 in Supply House Times' 2009 Premier 150 survey of wholesalers.
Transmark, based in the United Kingdom, has a network of 45 distribution and service facilities in the U.K., Europe, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. The acquisition is subject to European Commission approval and other customary closing conditions. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
