About CSST
I appreciate Jim Wheeler’s article on CSST (“Whole-House Corrugated Stainless Steel Gas Pipe,”Supply House Times, February 2010, page 42). There is not enough said about it. I am a manufacturers rep and have had the Gastite line since 1998. I can count on one hand how many claims I have had, and 98% of those were due to plumber installation error. This is a dream line for me, because I never have call backs. Now that it is in the California Plumbing Code, it is easy going, but before that we had to get approval from every jurisdiction. We now have every wholesaler carrying a brand of CSST. With our earthquake problem, it makes sense to have this product in every house. Enjoyed the article!Janeen Smith
