Well, 2010 has certainly been a memorable year for me and a year of progress for the American Supply Association. Our company has had to manage expenses prudently while working hard to generate revenue and ASA has done the same. We can all appreciate the dedication of the entire ASA staff, who have stepped-up and broadened their duties to allow our association to become more efficient with our expenses while at the same time expanding our membership. We have gained many new members, and the commitment by the national distributor members to re-join ASA will truly strengthen our organization. We can be proud of how all parties worked through this issue with open minds and a cooperative spirit.
The leadership at ASA listened to the members and as a result - and at great expense - changed the location of NetworkASA 2011 from Maui to Las Vegas. Thus, we need your support by attending NetworkASA 2011, especially those who were so vocal about their objections to Hawaii.
Our Education Foundation has made great progress in delivering new and improved programs as well as managing the Karl E. Neupert Endowment Fund.
Advocacy efforts benefit everyone in our industry, whether you know it or not. Our plan to hire a full-time lobbyist will prove beneficial in the long run.
What I have learned for certain is that membership supports our industry and our individual businesses. Involvement creates awareness, insight and beneficial relationships.
We all owe tremendous thanks to the many volunteers who truly go above and beyond the call of duty, putting time and effort into making our association successful - and valuable. We also owe great appreciation to our ASA Supplier Partners who generously support ASA.
I have enjoyed my year serving as the ASA president and greatly appreciate the support I received. I wish you all a Merry Christmas, a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year.
