Dept. of Energy withdraws interpretative rule on
showerheads and will issue enforcement guidance.
The Department of Energy (DOE) said it has
withdrawn the interpretative rule on showerheads from OMB review and instead
intends to issue a simple enforcement guidance explaining how the department
will fulfill its obligation to enforce the law without unduly burdening
manufacturers or disrupting the economy.
“We believe this guidance will definitively resolve the issues … raised in a
satisfactory manner, and provide clarity and certainty to all stakeholders,”
Scott Blake Harris, general counsel of DOE, wrote to Congressman Thomas E.
Petri in February.
The new guidance is expected in the near future. Keep checking “Today’s Top
