Armstrong Appoints First CEO in 77-Year History
Alexander G. van der Weerd will serve
as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

After 77 years as a family-run business, Charles Armstrong, chairman of S.A. Armstrong Limited has stepped down to appoint the first CEO in the company’s history. Alexander G. van der Weerd will serve as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. In this new role, van der Weerd will be responsible for the formulation and execution of the global business strategy.
He brings 18 years of extensive experience in the HVAC industry, as well as serving in senior operating roles with Carrier Corp. Most recently, he served as president, Americas and executive board member of Belimo Holding A.G.
