Tyco Fire Protection Products’ PATHFINDER Fittings used in CPVC systems are designed to help identify dry-fits during installation by incorporating a grooved channel on the inside of the fitting. This channel allows installers to test systems containing PATHFINDER Fittings using low-pressure air to find dry-fit connections prior to performing the required hydrostatic test. The fittings quickly indicate lack of a cemented joint by audibly leaking air. The rate of pressure decay is instantly noticeable by observing a calibrated pressure gauge and listening for air escaping through the dry-fit fitting.
