Still based in its original Audubon, N.J., location, Audubon Plumbing Supply took to the USS New Jersey in June to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Fourth-generation owner and Secretary/Treasurer Matt Knoettner hosted the company’s 11 employees, friends, family, vendors and valued customers to celebrate. Knoettner’s
father, George, and his uncle, Harry, both retired from the company, set off five canon rounds (blanks, not live ammunition) from the 5-in. canons on board.
“It was a wonderful night,” Knoettner told Supply House Times. “I just wanted to have a nice party to celebrate.”
Audubon Plumbing Supply, which features a second location in Mantua, N.J., started in 1913 and during the Great Depression evolved into a traditional supply house. Over time, the company added HVAC distribution to its portfolio. HVAC sales now make up 75% of Audubon’s total sales.
