Laufen, the designers and manufacturers of contemporary bathroom furniture and fixtures, received the award for design excellence from ADEX for two of its recent luxury collections.
The Kartell by Laufen collection was honored with the Platinum 2014 ADEX Award and the revolutionary SaphirKeramik ceramic was recognized with Gold. The coveted Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX Awards) are bestowed annually and constitute the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.

The Kartell by Laufen Collection is the innovative collaboration inspired by the iconic design of Kartell combined with Laufen’s revolutionary SaphirKeramik ceramics. Combining the playful luxury plastic of Kartell with the elegant contemporary ceramic designs of Laufen, the architects Roberto and Ludovica Palomba have crafted a collection for the ages.
The new washbasins, which are made of SaphirKeramik and available in seven color choices, have revolutionized washbasin design. Thinner than traditional fireclay ceramics but with greater flexural strength, this new technology allows greater design freedom and creativity.
