Lebanon, Pa.-based APR Supply Co., recently announced the acquisition of W.G. Balph Co.
The transition started in June with the four-branch addition to be completed within the subsequent year.
W.G. Balph Co., is a plumbing, heating and HVAC distributor that was founded in 1926 by Bill Ralph. In 1995, ownership of the company passed to the MacVitties. The business operated two branch locations in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Greensburg, Pa.
“The acquisition of Balph Co. represents a continuation of APR’s aggressive growth strategy,” APR Supply COO David Robinson said. “More specifically, this move is an extension of our existing joint venture business model.”
The Two Balph locations eventually will be supplemented by two additional APR Supply locations in the Pittsburgh market thanks to APR’s joint venture relationship with Schaedler Yesco, a distributor of electrical supplies and equipment. The two companies currently share 10 branch locations.
