Headquartered in Indianapolis, HP Products distributes products in eight categories, including janitorial, packaging, safety, laundry and dietary, lighting, equipment, food and beverage, and textiles. The company now operates as HP Products, a Ferguson enterprise, and management and all employees have remained with the company.
“There is tremendous opportunity for both companies with this integration,” Ferguson COO Kevin Murphy said. “HP Products will take advantage of our distribution network and economies of scale and our customers will benefit from an even larger depth and breadth of product inventory for everyday items.”
Ames Shuelpurchased H.P. Chemical in 1964 with the vision to establish a janitorial supplies company that would provide the best products, services and support at competitive prices. Today, the company has more than 450 employees, five distribution centers, three cross-docks and 500,000 sq. ft. of combined warehouse space located throughout the Midwest. The company expanded its product offering in the late 1980s, allowing HP Products to become a single-source supplier to hundreds of customers.
“This is an important step for the future of our growth and for our employees,” remarked Bridget Shuel-Walker, president of HP Products. “Since we will function as we have before, our expertise and industry leadership will continue to provide value to the combined customer base on an even larger scale. Our strength is our people, and we will continue to focus on the needs of the customer providing them with exceptional service and products. Our future has never been brighter.”
This acquisition allows Ferguson to diversify its product offering to better serve its customers across all industries.
