The tekmar Snow Melting Control 680 operates electric or hydronic equipment to melt snow or ice from any road surface. It communicates with building automation systems (BAS) using BACnet or Modbus for alert notification, remote monitoring and adjustment capability. The 680 uses a Snow/Ice Sensor 090 to automatically detect snow or ice. Up to two snow/ice sensors can be installed to increase the detection area and provide redundancy in the case of sensor failure. Energy monitoring is possible when the Snow Melting Control 680 is connected to an optional flow meter.
