Murray Supply Co. recently hosted its 50th anniversary gala and recognition dinner at Downtown Winston-Salem (N.C.) Embassy Suites Grand Pavilion Ballroom.
The dinner is held annually to recognize Murray employees and their accomplishments of the previous year. The dinner also acted as a kick off to the company’s year-long 50th anniversary celebration.
A key highlight was the showing of a 24-minute video documentary that told the history of the company and featured a number of current employees, retirees and four members of the Murray family: Charlie Murray (CEO), David Murray (President), Craig Murray (retired) and Walter Murray (who founded the company with his late father, C.V. Murray).
During the awards portion of the evening, David Hege received a 30-year service honor, while Daniel Kelly, Larry Fesperman, Joe Roche and Lisa Maier received 15-year honors. Pat Dickson, Tim Mabe and Jeffrey Setzer were cited for 10 years of service, while Christina Clark was presented a five-year service award.
Kevin Fitzpatrick(MRO Division) received the Tim Norman Sales Leadership Award. In the first sales category, Ford Fitzpatrick (Raleigh branch) was the winner of the First Place Sales Award, while Randy Stephens (Winston-Salem branch) won the Top Gross Profit Dollar Producer Award. Jeff Fournier (Raleigh MRO branch) won the Runner-Up Sales Award.
In the second sales category, Randy Dalton (Charlotte branch) won the First Place Sales Award, while Alan Honeycutt (Raleigh branch) received the Runner-Up Sales Award and the Top Gross Profit Dollar Producer Award.
Sharon Rembielak(Industrial Division) was named the company 2014 employee of the year. Branch employee of the year honors went to Rick Stewart (Charlotte), Stephens (Winston-Salem), Mike Wood (Raleigh), Setzer (Hickory), Terrah McGee (Industrial Division), Bernard Jant (MRO Charlotte), Breon Bunting (MRO Raleigh) and Matt Alspaugh (Corporate).
Safe-driving honors (accident-free in 2014) went to Fesperman, Kelly, Reginald Jones, Setzer, Leroy Davis, Mabe, James Lackey, Sean Johnson, Kevin Thorne, Patrick Simons, Anthony Yarborough, Dennis Hatfield, David West, Albert Daniels and Lawrence Hagenah.
