The Wm. Powell Co. (Powell Valves) recently competed the third and final phase of its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Yancheng City, China.
Phase one consisted of constructing a new 400,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility, while phase two was machinery and test equipment upgrades. The third and final phase was construction of a 6,000-sq.-ft. cryogenic cleaning facility.
“Consolidating two separate locations into one state-of-the-art location significantly improves our employee engagement while additionally increasing our manufacturing efficiencies,” Powell Executive Vice President Brandy Cowart said. “We will continue to strategically invest in infrastructure that positions Powell for growth both domestically and internationally.”
Powell now has cryogenic cleaning capabilities in Orangeburg, S.C., and Yancheng City, China. “Duplicating what we have done for many years in Orangeburg into our Yancheng City facility enables us to support our industrial gas and LNG customers on a global scale,” Powell Vice President of Sales and Marketing North American and International Tim Fries said. “We have compressed our lead times significantly to service our end-user customers who play in this space globally.”
