Pennsylvania Machine Works’ Dielectric Union is a type of pipe fitting designed to effectively prevent electrolytic corrosion. The union tail piece is coated with thermo-baked epoxy polymer with high dielectric strength (greater than 1,500 volts/mil), which insulates against galvanic corrosion and breaks stray current flow. This coating provides resistance to wear, abrasion and corrosion. The pipe fittings are designed and tested in accordance with ASSE Standard 1079.
