The annual competition among Heating Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) members recovered 239 pounds of mercury from 70 member companies, increasing more than 16 pounds from last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, more than 380 branch locations returned collection bins during the contest period, from May 1 to October 31.

The thermostats are compact with a low profile and light neutral color that easily blends into the wall. The programmable FGS can be set to accommodate user schedules. The nonprogrammable FG has a simple temperature adjustment interface and on/off switch.

The 3iE is user-friendly with an intuitive menu, simple words, can be set in several languages and comes in eight colors — black, silver, white, cream, blue, green, purple and pink. The thermostat can be used as a floor-temperature sensor, an air-temperature sensor or both.

Available with two-way and three-way diverters, this makes them more economical to install than conventional two-handle thermostatic shower valves.

Besides the ability to dial-in exact temperatures, the system requires no diverter valve to toggle between shower applications, such as showerhead-to-handheld shower. Features include anti-scald temperature protection with a safety override button, ideal for parents of young children and the elderly.
