As of June 9, 2017, Comex copper had jumped up to $2.65 per pound.

Pricing for domestic carbon steel pipe products has been drifting down.

There was no significant pricing activity — up or down — in April.

Three of the four largest domestic stainless steel producers decreased May surcharges.

HDPE pipe continues to be in short supply following last year’s exit of a major manufacturer.  

The nation’s two largest manufacturers have announced 6% price increases that will be effective in June 2017.

Rising costs for raw material, labor and environmental compliance prompted a 5-8% increase.

While still higher than six months ago, copper prices have been falling over the past three months.  

The market for both domestic and import carbon steel pipe products has remained strong for 1Q17.  

With some project work developing, market conditions have continued to improve for weld fittings and flanges.
