The National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA) plans to implement updated efficiency standards, NAECA4, for residential electric storage water heaters over 35 gallons by May 6, 2029, requiring heat pump technology.
Contractors can receive a $25 tool credit when they purchase an A. O. Smith standard gas or electric water heater and a $50 tool credit when they purchase an A. O. Smith heat pump water heater from participating wholesale partners.
The product launch also includes a new size, the EZ71 (photo left). All three EZ Series models, including the popular EZ98DV and the EZ111DV, will continue to carry a 25-year warranty on both their primary and secondary stainless steel heat exchangers.
The new under sink crossover product combines the efficiency of an on-demand system, with the ease of installation of more conventional, timer-based pumps.
The POU tankless water heater does not require venting, making it an ideal fit for a variety of applications that need immediate hot water on site, including lavatories, isolated sinks, emergency fixtures, boosters and more.
A. O. Smith, celebrating 150 years in 2024, began in 1874 as a metal components supplier for baby carriages and bicycles. Arthur O. Smith designed a lightweight pressed steel car frame and became a major supplier to car manufacturers like Packard, Cadillac, and Ford.
