U.S. factory shipments of residential cooling
and heating equipment declined in February, compared with the same month a year
ago, while the commercial market for these products maintained steady growth,
according to AHRI.

recently released studies, one by the New Buildings Institute and one by CoStar
Group, have validated what the green building community has known all along:
third-party-certified buildings outperform their conventional counterparts
across a wide variety of metrics.

and heating equipment for January 2008 look very similar to the totals for the
same month a year ago, with a slight rise reported this year for central air
conditioners, air-source heat pumps and gas warm air furnaces, according to the
Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
