Ken Simonson is chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America. Stimulus

approximately $149 billion of funding to be obligated by September 30, 2009,
for infrastructure and public
building investment provisions, according to a tabulation by AGC.
Construction spending
in
April totaled $1.12 trillion at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR), down
0.4% from March and 3.9% from April 2007, the Census Bureau reported.
