Baton Rouge, La.-based manufacturers representative firm and AIM/R member A.H. Deveney recently acquired fellow Louisiana firm Parks-Peyton.
Parks-Peyton does business in Louisiana and Mississippi and has a line card that features Bradford-White, Nomaco, Lesso America Fittings, Trim to the Trade, Mansfield Vortens Plumbing Fixtures and Union Brass. The acquisition was finalized in early July.
“They have been in the rep business for 40 years and both owners wanted to retire,” A.H. Deveney General Manager Mike Mullen told Supply House Times at the 89th annual Southern Wholesalers Association Convention on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Mullen noted Frank Parks, one of the principals at Parks-Peyton, is heading into a new venture on the manufacturing side. “We’ve known Parks-Peyton for 25 years,” Mullen said. “They were looking for rep partners to do an acquisition. With us, there are no conflicts with the lines we have. We started talking to them last summer and things progressed to where we have an agreement.”
Mullen said Perry Peyton, the other principal, will stay on for a year and work part-time at A.H. Deveney while the firm’s other employee, Lloyd Brown, will continue with Deveney and focus on specialized distributor accounts.
“This strengthens our agency,” Mullen said. “Bradford-White is a premier water-heater manufacturer focused exclusively on the wholesale market with a great history and family culture. We are excited to represent Mansfield Vortens. They are an excellent plumbing-fixture manufacturer with pottery plants in the U.S. We will be stocking Armacell/Nomaco insulation, continuing to provide the high service level our customers expect. We’re honored to rep all these new lines.”
A.H. Devaney was named Supply House Times sister publication Plumbing & Mechanical’s 2016 Manufacturers Representative of the Year.
