The addition of the TrueShip feature to Neuco’s ordering process has made it easier for counter salespeople to wrap up a sale with their customers. Distributors were previously accustomed to waiting for a final invoice before knowing shipping costs on their orders but now they can see their landed total prior to submitting an order.
Neuco’s latest innovation incorporates a variety of data including product dimensions, weights and outbound shipping container sizes and a multitude of shipping methods to give customers an accurate freight quote before clicking the 'Submit Order' button on Neuco.com. TrueShip works for orders placed online and also for ones placed by phone, fax or email.
Development of TrueShip began nearly two years ago and finally made its debut last fall. “The initial reaction from our customers has been extremely favorable thus far. It has provided them the information that was lacking in the past to be able to complete the sales process for their customers in a timely manner,” said Paul Neustadt, Neuco’s president.
While TrueShip currently only applies to UPS shipping methods, Neuco has plans to incorporate other carriers and shipping methods. “Yes, while shipping via UPS is the first part of the TrueShip product, we are already looking at how we can improve and enhance it by adding other carriers in the future,” Neustadt added.
