For the third year, APR Supply Co. President & CEO Scott Weaver, along with fellow cyclist Lebanon-based attorney Jeff Arnold joined forces with Ameriprise Financial to raise almost $32,000 by participating in the 13th Annual Alzheimer’s Association — A Ride to Remember.
The bicycling event took place July 9-11, 2021. The 252-mile ride began in Simpsonville, SC, and concluded at Patriot’s Point in Charleston, SC. This year was a return to an in-person ride format after last year’s virtual ride challenge due to COVID-19 restrictions.
This year’s 3-day ride featured over 260 riders who together raised $671,742 for the Alzheimer’s Association, South Carolina Chapter funding research and other programs.
“Alzheimer’s has had a personal impact on my life, and I have witnessed the challenges that it brings. Participating in this ride, while challenging on a different level, is a way for me to push myself and help others at the same time,” Weaver said..
Many of the riders have a personal connection to someone suffering from the disease and wrote the names of those they rode for on their racing bibs.
