Ahead of National Coloring Book Day on August 2, Ferguson shared its digital coloring and activity book that includes age-appropriate coloring activities, mazes, word searches and games. The book focuses on different aspects of plumbing, trade careers and water conservation. To help make explaining the plumbing concepts easier and more fun, the Marketing Department created a children’s activity book.
“We wanted to create something fun and engaging for our associates and customers to share with their children,” said Elizabeth Gates, marketing specialist. “Kids may know that their parents work for Ferguson or in the plumbing industry. Or worse! They may have to visit with their parents while their family picks out fixtures for their home. It's not really how a kid wants to spend an afternoon. We hope that this makes theirs — and our world — a little more fun!”
The activity book is an opportunity to talk with your children about careers in the skilled trades, which supports our Ferguson Cares mission to rebuild the pipeline of skilled trades professionals in the United States.
"For years, Ferguson has said that our plumbers are artisans of sorts. We see firsthand how much they believe in their craft, in their workmanship," said Melissa Hazelwood, Ferguson Cares manager. "Still, it can be challenging to explain the industry to our children and pique their curiosity. Using tools like this coloring book, helps us explain the trades to our kids and celebrate the industry on National Coloring Book Day. When you position our industry this way, you elevate plumbing to an art form and teach the kids how truly amazing plumbing really is."
