I asked some friends in the industry, who work in cities, how they manage to do what they do, what with the traffic, lack of parking and high-stressed inhabitants. What they had to say made me shiver. 

Beckett Corporation, a manufacturer of HVAC condensate management solutions, released its new line of medium condensate removal pumps, the BK17 and BK22 series.

For most of my career I’ve heard lay people say that it doesn’t pay to turn down the heat when they’re away from home because it takes much more heat to heat the house up again once it goes cold. They believe this because someone told them it’s true, even though it’s not true.

The Ducane line of residential unitary HVAC equipment will be available to contractors through any of the fifty TGG wholesale locations across the 6 New England states. Inventory has already started to land and will be fully stocked across the Granite Group branch network in mid-March. Available products will include gas and oil furnaces, air handlers, condensing units and heat pumps, many of which qualify for homeowner rebates in New England. This, combined with the addition of packaged rooftop units from Allied Commercial, will allow The Granite Group to offer a full range of equipment from 1.5 ton up to 25 ton.

HARDI released its monthly TRENDS report, showing the average sales performance by HARDI distributors was an increase of 35.3% during January. The average annual sales growth for the 12 months through January is 25%.

Westinghouse has added a new multi-position, quiet operation air handler to competitively-priced line of mini-split heat pump systems for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The air handlers can be operated with many different types of 24V controllers. 

EEE 2022 features a two-day trade show showcasing the latest and best in products and services for the petroleum marketing and HVAC industry. The show will be open May 24-25. The trade show will feature 200 exhibits in the new Earth Expo & Convention Center at Mohegan Sun. All booth and truck exhibits will be in a single exhibit area. The interactive outdoor exhibits will be just outside the Expo Center within easy access.

FabricAir honored Tulsa, Oklahoma-based DS Herron Co. with its 2021 Top Manufacturer’s Representative Performance award at the AHR Expo 2022 in Las Vegas. FabricAir National Sales Manager, Charles Justice, presented the award to Rob Dixon and Julie Dixon, DS Herron’s president and vice president, respectively, who founded the manufacturer’s representative firm in 2000.  

I was listening to James Trane the other day. He was speaking from Chicago in 1902, telling me that his system of steam heating using small pots of mercury was the best way to go. Mercury. That got me thinking about how my classmates and I used to play with mercury while our science teacher smiled as he wandered the room, watching us poke the dangerous stuff with our adolescent fingers. Life in the 1950s sure was interesting.
