Breton Hampel has been employed with Bradford White Corp. for 10 years. When he first began at Bradford White, he worked the night shift running a press while attending college during the day. He then joined the production team after taking an interest in welding. After completing all the necessary safety and training classes through Bradford White, Hampel was promoted to a supervisor role four years later. His roles have included supervisor in the press room (metal forming), electric line (general assembly), shipping, and most recently, in the commercial tank plant. As the commercial tank plant supervisor, Hampel is responsible for the overall safety, quality and productivity of 55 employees. He works closely with quality and engineering to ensure that they are meeting all ASME criteria on current products, as well as new product releases.
Over its 100-year history, welding has become one of the most essential technical skills in manufacturing and fabrication. The process of using high-temperature, electrical-powered heat to fuse two pieces of metal or synthetic material has been incorporated throughout the industry in an increasingly wide variety of applications that rely on a range of tools and techniques.
