For the first time, ASA and PMI will join forces at our industry’s Legislative Fly-In April 9-10 in Washington, D.C.

During the first week of April, leaders of the PHCP and PVF industry will be front and center advocating on issues important to suppliers and manufacturers. For the first time, American Supply Association and Plumbing Manufacturers International will join forces at our industry’s Legislative Fly-In April 9-10 in Washington, D.C.
There are more than 70,000 individuals building great careers in the PHCP and PVF industry. In his acceptance speech after becoming 2013 ASA president, Jeff Pope (F.W. Webb) challenged the American Supply Association to implement a program that would attract the next generation of our industry’s employees.
In last month’s issue, a panel of leading PHCP executives made its feelings known on a variety of issues related to government regulation and how the current political climate is affecting the industry. In the second of this two-part series, the group delves into issues related to the everyday workings of its companies, including staff growth, e-commerce and attracting young talent into the industry.
Now more than ever, legislative and regulatory decisions play a major role in the way PHCP and PVF distributors conduct business. A blue-chip panel of distributors had plenty to say about that and many other hot-button topics during an exclusive roundtable interview conducted by Supply House Times and the American Supply Association during NetworkASA 2013 at the Renaissance Marriott DC Downtown Hotel in Washington.

The American Supply Association recently announced two-time Super Bowl-champion coach and current “Fox NFL Sunday” studio analyst Jimmy Johnson will be a speaker at the A. O. Smith Future Trends Luncheon as part of NetworkASA 2014 to be held Sept. 9-11 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
This year is poised to be another bruising battle for control of the House and Senate. Historically, the president’s party loses seats in midterm elections. Unless something drastic occurs, that is likely to be the case once again.
